What we do
The U.S. operation of Sun Life Financial Investments conducts business as Sun Capital Advisers LLC, an SEC registered investment adviser. We are responsible for managing more than $40 billion in assets for Sun Life Financial and other parties. Our Wellesley Hills-based group is part of the Sun Life Financial Global Investment organization which manages more than $90 billion in assets worldwide.
How we're organized
Our investment professionals manage a broad range of assets, primarily for the company's General Account. Supporting the liabilities created by the sale of insurance and annuity products, the assets are mostly fixed income (publicly traded bonds, private placements and commercial mortgages), but include direct real estate and equities as well. Our group also manages a large derivatives portfolio as part of Sun Life Financial's risk management program.
In addition to managing the investments of the General Account, we generate fee income by managing separate account assets for non-affiliated third party clients. This includes public and private pension plans, banks, and other insurance companies. Our portfolio managers also manage four mutual funds* that are available through the sale of Sun Life Financial's variable products.
