Concentrated Portfolios, Focus on Best Ideas
Founder Tom Marsico's investment strategy results in concentrated portfolios whose individual holdings are meant to have a material effect on performance. A rigorous investment discipline has been in place since the firm's inception.

Three Unique Components

  1. In-house research
    • Marsico Capital Management, LLC does not rely on Wall Street research.
    • The investment team insists on doing the work themselves.
    • Analysts develop proprietary, detailed earnings and cash flow models on their 600-stock universe.

  2. Blend top-down and bottom-up factors
    • Macroeconomic analysis creates a strategic backdrop for portfolio construction and doubles as a source for investment theme development.
    • Investment themes point analysts in the direction of where to start the bottom-up stock analysis.

  3. Broad definition of "growth," Marsico constructs the portfolio by investing among three large-cap   categories: Life-cycle change, Core Growth, and Aggressive Growth.

The portfolios listed contain different investments than similarly named mutual funds offered by the money manager. Investment results may be higher or lower. Stocks offer the potential for long-term gains but can be subject to short-term up and down price movements. Bond prices generally move in the opposite direction from interest rates. Thus, as the prices of bonds in a fund adjust to a rise in interest rates, a fund's share price may decline. International investing is subject to unique risks, including currency fluctuations and political events.

The investment objectives and policies of certain funds may be similar to those of other funds managed by the same investment advisor. No representation is made, and there can be no assurance given, that any fund's investment results will be comparable to the investment results of any other fund, including another fund with the same investment advisor or manager. The fund's investment results may be expected to differ and may be higher or lower than the investment results of such other fund. Differences in portfolio size, investment holdings, contract and fund expenses, and other factors are all expected to contribute to differences in fund performance.
